The Works Art & Design Festival
An Outdoor Celebration of Art & Design
Role: Lead Designer
Agency: zag
Client: The Works Art & Design Festival
The Works Art & Design Festival is North America’s largest free outdoor celebration of visual art and design. Featuring installations, live music, local food, and hands-on workshops.
The festival was looking for a creative campaign that would highlight the predetermined theme of “Code” for the year. We created Decode as You See Fit to showcase the idea that everyone views art through their own lens and interprets it differently.
To visually showcase this concept, I created unique glasses that were featured to show various emotions people may feel when looking at art.
This campaign had a large reach around the city of Edmonton and surrounding area. Not only with the 370,000+ attendees at the festival, but also through the campaign materials that were created. My design was applied to various formats including print publication advertisements, festival schedule guide booklets, posters, bus shelter ads, social media graphics and more.
